Video of Hail during our storm

We got a great thunderstorm today. I absolutely love storms of any kind. Unfortunately we don’t get too many. This one was awesome because we got golf ball size hail. The video doesn’t show the large hailstones but we did get some. No, I am not exaggerating.

Sarah filmed the video and you can hear me mouthing off in the back round. Sometimes I get overly excited.

Now the sun is out and it is beautiful. I wish I could become one of those storm chasers but we just don’t get enough storms to chase though Sarah and I have been known to jump in the car during a good storm.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

So that’s what rain looks like! It has been so long since I have seen any I have almost forgotten. We are in a drought and are now under water rationing here in South Texas.
I love watching hail as long as my car is parked in the garage!

Unfortunately we get quite a lot of rain here during winter. We usually get a couple of REALLY bad storms in July, which is the middle of winter for us. I’m talking fences falling over, trees being ripped up, and roofs blowing off. In July 2007 we lost 2 fences.
We had a doozy of a thunderstorm the other night – over 1000 bolts of lightning, apparently!
I’m glad you got to see a hailstorm – you & Sarah both sounded pretty excited about it! Did Lilah enjoy it? Or did she sleep through it?

Lilah was nursing when it happened so she was attached to Sarah and very happy. We do get Nor’ Easters sometimes which can be damaging from the heavy winds. I always look forward to a good storm. When the kids were young they used to get so excited if we lost electricity. We would light candles and play cards.

That is awesome. I hope there was no damage though. When I was younger, I always wanted to be a storm chaser. I love storms. It has been pouring for what seems like a month were I’m from. Last week it hailed but it definitely wasn’t that big.

Wow! Hail storms are exciting! I’ve never seen one before — only on TV and videos. My country NEVER gets this kinds of storms. Only rain and Mr Sun’s blaring UV rays.

It was pretty darned exciting! My daughter ran outside after and grabbed some hail to put in the freezer to prove to non-believers. Her friends in Edgartown said no hail there.

That’s interesting that there was no hail in Edgartown. We froze some hail too but the pieces weren’t too big because they were melting so fast. It really was exciting.

I’m storm chaser. Looked all over your site and couldn’t figure out where you live (not your physically address…lol). Was that the storm that passed thru Mass yesterday?

I live on the Island of Martha’s Vineyard off the coast of Cape Cod in Massachusetts. My daughter and I have chased a few thunderstorms. I love storms. Thanks for stopping by.

Boy, if you like this you should live in MN. I’m not sure you’d like tornado’s though. I love a good old fashioned thunder-boomer but I hate tornado’s.

Here in the Philippines, it rains with hail sometimes, and yes I must agree it’s fantastic 🙂

It’s rainy season here right now and I am loving it. Though sometimes, heavy rains causes traffic and flood. 😦

Wow, is it just me or is this happening more often lately? We had a sunshower not too long ago and out of nowhere my taxi got PELTED with hail! It hurts like crazy if you happen to be outside in short sleeves, but if you’re inside it’s rather neat 😉
