Yes, I am guilty of not writing any posts since August. I am planning on writing one this week as I want to write about my daughter who at 33 years old has recently been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis.
The last post I wrote was about my son celebrating his 1 year of sobriety. The good news is 4 months has passed and he is still sober.
It is 1:30 AM and I should be asleep because I am going off island tomorrow with my daughter and granddaughter to do some Christmas shopping. We always go off to do some shopping once before Christmas. This will be Lilah’s first time to come with us for our Christmas shopping trip. At 3 1/2 years old she is very excited to come with us.
The above photo is Lilah baking chocolate chip cookies today with her Mom.

So sorry to hear about your daughter’s diagnosis. I did not know she was not feeling well. I hope medical science and compassionate doctors help make life bearable for her.

Thanks Trisha. She started a medication 2 weeks ago and it is starting to kick in. We are also changing her diet which means we are all eating more vegetarian dinners which is great. I have found some wonderful recipes but I will always love meat. 😉

Hey Joan – good to see your post.
Lilah is a little beauty, that smile is awesome.
Sorry about your daughter’s diagnosis.
Hope you have a successful shopping trip off-Island. I did a lot of my Christmas shopping on-Island in October 🙂
Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Hi Joan, I’m happy you stopped by. This island is a wonderful place to shop. There are so many wonderful small stores. I love Rainy Day, one of my favorites. I also love the local Artisans’ gallery. Merry Christams to you too.

I have a friend that suffers from RA so I am all too familiar with how crippiling it can be. I hope they can manage it very quickly for her. I will keep her in my prayers.

Thanks H. Things are improving since she started working on her diet and taking the medication.

So sorry to hear about Sarah and the RA dx. That is painful, I know. Hopefully they can ease the symptoms for her. She is lucky she has you. 🙂

Sarah is a real trooper. She never complains. We are working hard to do everything we can to make life easier for her.

Sorry to hear about your daughters RA. Glad to hear your son is doing well with his sobriety. I relapsed myself this year but I’m back on track now. One day at a time. ❤

Sorry I didn’t get to this post sooner, Joan. Today is my first time reading blogs since late November. Life has been busy. I’m glad to hear about your son and sorry to hear about your daughter. That being said, I’m happy to hear she is helping to ease the condition with diet. It is my understanding that with the right diet 😉 RA can be slowed, stopped and even reversed in some cases if caught early. I hope this is the case with her. That little Lilah is just too cute with her excited eyes and infectious smile.

Hi Peter, Happy New Year!! I am cooking the meals for the next three nights and they are all vegetarian. I am making sweet potato felafel tonight and tomorrow Pad Thai. It’s been fun trying new recipes and I am sure we will all be healthier for it. Thanks for stopping by.
