Two More Buddies Come To The Island

Bongo and Super Pickle showed up on the island this week.  I think they enjoyed their visit.  There isn’t too much to do here in the spring but I took them for a ride with me, Sarah, the wasband and my best friend of 50 years who came to visit.

Our first stop was a sheep farm.  This is the farm’s store They sell sheep stuff.

Super Pickle and Bongo got to visit the baby sheep.  The lambs tried to eat Super Pickles feet.

After seeing the lambs we went out to see the cliffs at Gay Head. The following photo is what it would have looked like if it wasn’t totally foggy.

All we got was the fog

After we got home everyone was tired and the buddies chilled in the window with Yoda.

Finally they went nighty night in my bed sleeping on my water pillow.

SUPER PICKLE AND BONGO- TOGETHER! So freakn’ cute Joanie. The lambs are precious! I’m glad they didn’t eat SP’s tennis shoes, that would have been tragic! Looks like you had a beautiful time regardless of the fog! Thanks for hosting my baby!!! xoxoxoxo

What a great treat for the buddies. To get to see those sheep was precious. They are adorable. Good thing they didn’t want to munch on a pickle!! They are adorable together. SP behaved himself?? WOW!! Maybe they were afraid of getting caned. I love the view from the window.

Great post Joan. This is fun isn’t it?

I really enjoyed having all the buddies visit. It was a lot of fun to take photos and write about them. Super Pickle was very good to host. I did have my cane with me just in case.

The name Gay Head has been around since the early to mid 1600’s. English settlers attached the name of the “gaily colored” cliffs, the Gay Head Cliffs, to the town as well, wrote Charles Banks, in “The History of Martha’s Vineyard,” published in 1911. The land itself is considered a headland of the island. A headland is surrounded by water on three sides. So you have the gaily colored cliffs and you have a headland hence Gay Head, now called Aquinnah, except most people still call it Gay Head.
In 1991 the name was changed to Aquinnah, a native American name because much of the land is owned by the Wampanoags.
