What Time Is It? Damon Is On His Way South!!

Where I live, it is 6:49PM on Tuesday November 18.  I think it is unnecessary to put the year.  I’m hoping you all know that already.  What freaks me out is: it is tomorrow in some places.  Like’ it’s almost 1:00PM in the afternoon tomorrow in Auckland, New Zealand.  Now, I know people there.  I find it so weird to think they are living in my tomorrow at the same time I am living in their yesterday.

It’s the little things in life, eh?

Now if  “Scotty” could beam me over there,  would I be 18 hours older in the second it took me to get there? I’d be in tomorrow land.

Sometimes I think of the weirdest stuff.

OK, enough of the space and time continuum.

Damon left to go South tonight at about 5:30 PM my time.  We took some photos of the tearful goodbye.  Who knows when I will see him again.

Damon saying goodbye to his beloved cat Yoda. The cat I will never let him have even though it is technically his.

Damon and Me–The final teary goodbye!!!  I’m wearing my old fat pants–they make me look even bigger!!

Sarah was still at work so she wasn’t home when he left.  He wrote her a nice thank you letter.

He’s been gone two hours.  I’ve already talked to him three times on his cell phone.

He’s actually headed west to Syracuse, N.Y. to visit his girlfriend for one night before he goes South.  Only a couple of days out of his way but I suppose there is really no hurry to go South.  It’ll be there when he gets there.

Goodbyes are so hard. I hope he’ll be back your way soon. Will he be coming back for the holidays? Nice pics you got! You made ME miss him, lol. That’s a big cat too.

I’m in the same time zone as you. That is weird that it’s tomorrow in New Zealand!

He had to leave now because he had already overstayed his time here. His sister said he could stay at the house for 2 nights and he stayed 2 months. He makes friends very easily so I’m sure he will find a family to spend the holidays with. He always does.

Actually, Yoda looks big in the photo but he is very small. Now, my other two cats are fatasses. They are huge but Yoda is the sweetest cat I have ever met. He thinks he’s a dog.

Goodbyes are always really hard, especially when you’re not sure of the next reunion. I hope you see Damon again really soon.

Yep, it’s a bit odd that we are a whole day ahead of you guys. It’s 3pm Thursday in NZ right now!! 😉
Each time I have travelled to the States/Canada, I thought it was so bizarre to completely lose a whole day of my life on the way home! It’s a 13-hour flight from LA, and combined with crossing so many time zones, you end up skipping an entire day. Weird, huh?

Damon has come and gone so many times and it’s hard each time he leaves. So as I write this you are in bed sleeping tonight and I just got up. I didn’t realize you had been to the states. What states did you visit?

Oops, I meant to say it’s 3pm WEDNESDAY here in NZ. I’m getting ahead of myself a bit!! 😉

Shows how observant I am, I didn’t even notice!!

It’s now 3.47pm here, Joan, lol, and you are in our yesterday, hee hee. I think of things like that too.

Love the photos especially the one of Damon hugging his mum. So special!

Wishing Damon a safe journey. I never say goodbye … it’s see or talk to you soon. 🙂

I don’t say goodbye either. It’s “talk to you soon”. He left last night and I’ve already talked to him about 8 times on his cell phone. He already called me this morning when he woke up. He’s definitely a mama’s boy.

Thanks, JJ. He’ll do fine. It’s time he goes South. It’s getting cold up here.

Did he avoid the snow I saw as I came through Syracuse this morning, Joan? Hopefully so. It was pretty bad in Rochester and all the way down the thruway to Syracuse!

He is a handsome young man! And you, my dear are getting skinny! I can tell even if you did have on your fat pants! Looking good!’

I’ll have to ask him about the snow because he is in Verona right now at some casino with his girlfriend. We actually saw a few flakes here on Cape Cod last night.

Yes, he’s a handsome guy and a sweet one too. I think I am going to have a good week at weight watchers.

God bless Damon, i hope you don’t miss him like crazy, or else you will… Just be strong, he will get to where he wants to…tell him to be safe…Take care Joanie…

Thanks, Sheng. He loves it in the South because he doesn’t like the cold winter weather we get here. I’m sure he’ll find a job as a first mate on a boat when he gets down their.

Aww, so sad to see him go…. he’s very handsome ya know! I’ll bet it never gets easier each time they leave to spread their wings… but I’m sure he feels safe knowing you are always there and he can come back to you… you are a loving mother Joan. I think this would be hard no matter what age. It’s nice that you can chat it up on the cellie though- thank goodness for those modern day gadgets or what would we do?
oh, btw- it’s 1:39am here in Chicago- I’m at work 😉 Hope you are sleeping soundly, or er… what is our time difference? The “fat pants” don’t make you look big. You are rockn’ those pants baby!

Damon has come and gone many times and I miss him more each time he leaves. I thank goodness that I get to live with my daughter and not ever have her leave except to go to work. He’s already called me 8 times and he’s only been gone 17 hours. Ha! Ha!
I think we have a 1 hour time difference so I probably was sleeping. I went to bed early last night. Usually I would have been up.

That Yoda is a damn fine looking cat. Very handsome. Those three other guys look ok too. 😉 All that time there and he didn’t stick around for Thanksgiving? What’s up with that? I guess it had to end at some point, and his stay was longer than expected. I hope things go well for him down south. You “is, was, will be” speech made my head hurt. 😛 You are so deep. My dad used to tell me about flying from Japan to Hawaii, and how he would get to Hawaii the day before he left. Boggles the mind, doesn’t it?

I agree, Yoda is far more handsome than the three amigos. Damon was only supposed to stay for 2 nights and he stayed 2 months. He needs to get South and get a job before their season starts down there. I wish, though, that he could have been here for Christmas.

Sorry I made your head hurt. Ha! Ha! Yea, I’m about as deep as a puddle. That’s weird about flying from Japan to Hawaii.

Oh Joan, HUGS for you. BTW, I LOVE you sweater!!! See you in tomorrow today sometime yesterday!

My daughter got me that sweater and now it is really big on me but I wear it anyway because it is so warm. Yea, I’ll see you tomorrow today sometime yesterday! Whenever that is!! 😉

I feel the same way about the time difference. I hate being 3 hours behind everyone else

That time stuff is annoying. I wonder what time it is in Japan?

Ive never noticed how much he favors you! Is “south” still south carolina?

Now that I am getting thinner he looks more like me. Actually “south” is now Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina—maybe–if he can find a job until fishing season starts.

I’ll be praying and sending good wishes Damon’s way and hope for a safe, uneventful trip.

I love your thinking. I think of things like this too. Oh, to funny.

Thanks for the pics, it’s always good to see them and I think you look great.

Thanks, an uneventful trip would definitely be a good thing but with Damon, I just don’t know. Isn’t it funny how the most random weird stuff can go through your head.

Aw, Joan. He’s off on another adventure. I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers.

Wow – you are swimming in your fat pants – they are way too loose for you! How were you holding them up?!! Heck, even your Meez is looking thinner!

I’m glad you are keeping Yoda. It’s probably better for him to be in one place than be travelling around and would make it harder for Damon to find a place to stay.

I don’t think I can get away with wearing those pants much longer. I only wear them around the house. There was no way Damon was taking Yoda from me. Like you said, Yoda is an indoor cat and how would you safely take him on a road trip. Poor Yoda would hate it. Plus I love Yoda more than any pet I have ever had. He listens to me more than the rest of the family and he doesn’t interrupt me.

Joan, it was hard not to cry. You can just see how sad you both look. 😦

That must have been hard. I don’t blame him for not liking the cold! ugh…

He sure is a cutie pie! And just look at how your pants are hanging off you! Wow!

It is so great that you and your children are so close knit. They have a wonderful Mother in you, Joan.

    Take care. 🙂

We are certainly a close family. Damon has probably called 25 times since he left. He’s about 40 miles from where he is staying tonight. I know he will call me again when he gets there. He is a cutie. All the girls love him because he is very “sensitive” too.

My feet smell very nice! I washed them! (And the rest of me.) I’m sorry to see Damon go, too, and wish him all the luck job-finding. Like you, I have readers from “down under” and other places where it’s already tomorrow. It is the strangest feeling, isn’t it? And fat-pants can be very comforting, somehow, but yours do NOT fit you anymore! So. there.

Good, no stinky feet here. I hope you are feeling better. I’ve been reading posts but haven’t left a lot of comments lately. Things were a little crazy around here but I don know about your surgery and have been keeping tabs on you. My fat pants are going to actually fall off soon. Yay!!!!

I wish him all the very best as I do your family. Hope he doesn’t loose his mobile phone.

I love the jumper it looks so snuggly and warm like a comfort jumper.

All the best JOans Of Mums
    Love
    Di.

    I like Yoda.

Yes, that is his new car. Hopefully, it will get him to where he is going. He’s already lost or dropped in the water about 5 cell phones. I don’t know how he manages it. Yoda is to me what Maggie is to you. Thanks, Diane!! 😉

    Love

I can’t imagine having to let go so many times. I’m not good at that, which is why I still live close to my oldest, and my youngest still lives with me. I can’t imagine how it tugs at your heart each time. “They” say it’s supposed to be easier with boys, but I doubt it. I really do. Hope WW was good for you this weekend.

I think this is the 5th time he’s come and gone. It really doesn’t get any easier. My daughter has never left me and never will but I think Damon will live a nomadic life for a while. I hope I have a good weight watchers Saturday.
