Weight Watcher Saturday!! Waterfire Providence!!

The truth is I have missed my last two weight watcher meetings. My weight gain today proves that I shouldn’t miss meetings. In the past two months I have only been to 6 meetings. I have gained 5.6 pounds over the last few weeks.  Well, all I can say is that it is a lesson well learned. Proves the weight watcher point that if you attend meetings you lose more weight.

My weight watcher leader told me to just consider it a vacation.  Well, the vacation is over and I am back on track.  I don’t want all my past efforts to go down the drain.

My weight watcher leader, Lorraine, has started a blog.  It is called “Losing with Lorraine”.  Go here to visit her.

I hope you all take a trip over to her blog and tell her I sent you.  She will be posting recipes and just being her usual self, funny and very motivational. I know I couldn’t have lost the weight I have lost without her.

I am going to Providence, R.I. today to see The Waterfire.

“WaterFire Providence®, the award-winning sculpture by Barnaby Evans installed on the three rivers of downtown Providence, has been praised by Rhode Island residents and international visitors alike as a powerful work of art and a moving symbol of Providence’s renaissance. WaterFire’s one hundred sparkling bonfires, the fragrant scent of aromatic wood smoke, the flickering firelight on the arched bridges, the silhouettes of the firetenders passing by the flames, the torch-lit vessels traveling down the river, and the enchanting music from around the world engage all the senses and emotions of those who stroll the paths of Waterplace Park. WaterFire has captured the imagination of over ten million visitors, bringing life to downtown, and revitalizing Rhode Island’s capital city.”

The wasband and his girlfriend are taking me.  Unfortunately for Barry he will be pushing me in the wheelchair because it involves a lot of walking for him, not me.   I have always wanted to see it.  I guess it is quite a sight. I will post photos when I return.

We are also going to visit my wasband’s Dad in the nursing home.  He is 97 and still functioning.  I’m looking forward to seeing him. He’s always been like a father to me.

To top it all off Barry is going to take us on a tour of all the houses I’ve lived in Rhode Island and there are many.  There will be photos.

I tried to read as many blogs as I could yesterday.  If I missed you I will be catching up soon.

You know Joan, don’t let the weight gain get you down. You’ve had parties and things that you normally don’t have so it was bound to happen. Just get right back on that horse girl. You want to stay on that healthy track.

I hope you have a great time. My family is coming here for the weekend and I get to see my nephew Eric. Praise God he’s okay. They will be traveling home to WA sometime next week.

    Cheers

Hey there foxy! I think the worst thing you can do is beat yourself up for gaining a bit, I think that should be expected. It took a long time to pack on the weight (I know from experience) and it will take a long time to get it all off. You are SO going to be able to do this Joanie. I get such a sense of what a strong woman you are through your writings. You are lucky to have such a great friend in your w.w. leader- I’ll have to pop in at her place, I can use some help too! Have fun on your trip, I look forward to seeing the pics, and maybe a vid of a random dumbass as well 🙂

I can’t believe it either. It was all Barry’s idea. I can’t believe you were at Waterfire. I’ll send you the pictures. I have pictures of your house on Fairhaven Road.

Keeping weight off is hell! It’s an every day battle and deep down I hate it but it’s worth it in the end. You feel better and you’re healthier too. You’ve had a busy summer and it’s easy to slip a little, but what I do is say to myself, “In 2 months I’ll be so glad that I got back on track.” And when those 2 months are up I’ll say, “I’m so glad I didn’t give up!.” You can’t fix everything in a day but it doesn’t take long to see results either. Does that make sense? Joan, I read you everyday, even though I don’t comment! Keep on entertaining!

Oooh, so pretty and exciting! Have a good time! And good for you for having the chutzpa to get right back on the w.w. train. Every time I try to drag my ass around the block a few times, I end up saying “bleah, fuck it, that’s an ice cream store up ahead.”

I think you probably deserved a wee vacation, and now you’ll be all fired up (literally, look at your Meez!!!) and on track to continue losing.
The meetings ARE so important and are definitely the key to losing each week.
You are doing REALLY well. Your WW leader’s blog sounds great and hopefully will be inspiring to others.

    Wow Joanie,
That looks utterly awesome. I wish I did fun things like you. I live vicariously through you I guess. Don’t worry too much about the weight, you’ve come so far a few pounds will be easy to bounce back from.

See you when you get back. Have a great time.
    Love

eh, dont sweat the weight gain. Youve been doing excellent, a small “vacation” is no biggy in the grand scheme of things.

    the waterfire looks awesome!

(and if I havent told you already, your new background and “look” feel very beachy to me…makes me wish I were sitting on the sand sipping something fruity)
