My Interview With Myself On Video!!

“An interview is a conversation between two or more people (the interviewer and the interviewee) where questions are asked by the interviewer to obtain information from the interviewee.”  (ganked from Wiki)

Well, it looks like I just changed the definition of the word  “interview” because there was only one person during this interview–ME.

I also did it in one take because I certainly wasn’t going to waste my time with this. What you see is what you get.

I did none of this planning.

So if you want to see the dumbest ass interview ever: watch this. Sometimes I even embarrass myself. Oh, this interview is rated PG. The lighting is bad because of my crappy camera and it gets a little blurry at times. I should have just done it over during the day but I think it’s best to see the first try.

This interview was amazing so there ya go. Very funny. I loved the leaning back and forth. Excellent!

Thanks B&G. I think sometimes the unplanned things you do come out the best.

omg, i love you so much joan! Shoooot! How do you do that? It was like I was sitting across from you. You are so natural and relaxed. Funny too (that goes without sayn’)

I love this and look forward to many more. Now, when I read your posts, I’ll have you in my mind talking and it’ll make it just that much better!

Thanks Anne, I sort of did it off the cuff, without really thinking. I wasn’t going to even post it but I though WTF. There will be more interviews.

You are such a hot frickin’ ticket! I love how you were both the interviewer and the interviewee. I have a question for your next video interview. I’ve always heard people say that as you got older, certain fears increased or intensified. But I’m also finding that other fears sort of diminish, like for me, worrying what other people think so much. What are your feelings on this? (I don’t want to just ask a question that can simply be answered with a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to such a fabulous interviewee!)

Good question! I am making a list. I had a tough time with questions for myself. I couldn’t think of any. When I asked myself what the most amazing thing was I had ever done, I had no clue what to answer.

My favorite part of this was how serious IviewER-Joan was when she asks the questions, and how HAPPY the smiley IviewEE-Joan is as she begins to ask the questions! SO FUN!!!

I honestly wasn’t even thinking much as I did that video. I wrote down 5 questions and then when I turned on the camera I didn’t even have answers for them.

I have a girl crush on you Joan. This was absolutely wonderful. I loved the part where you tell everyone everything. LMAO!!!! I also love how you can admit that you blogged all day. I always lie!!!

“Girl Crush” You’re too funny. I think my family thinks I’m nuts but that’s OK they still love me. As long as I get my chores done no one gets on my case.

Thank you, Joan! This was so cool of you to do for us, your adoring fans! You are a great interviewer. And as an interviewee- open and interesting. 🙂

You’re so beautiful and funny and sweetie.
i have a question for you:

If you could have three wishes, what would they be?

“My adoring fans” Gee, my heads gonna get bigger and it’s already huge!! Ha! Ha! I will add your question for my next interview. I couldn’t think of anything good to ask myself so I’m glad people are asking questions.

I will add this to my growing list of questions. This is actually a good one and will take some thought. Thanks!

I totally wish you were my neighbor…wait, I wish I was your neighbor. I’d rather be somewhere where I could just take off and go to the beach. I suppose I can take off through the corn fields, but somehow I think the beach would be better. 😀 You are just such fun! I have got to get me one of those cameras! Love how you played both parts. I want to know what is Joan’s favoritest season of the year and why?

All that corn would give me nightmares. I would be thinking of those “Children of the Corn” movies. I have to live near the ocean. You should get a video camera. It’s so much fun. I have to amuse myself somehow. I will add your question to my list for the next interview. I’d love you for a neighbor.

Fabulous interview!! I loved watching this, and hearing your voice. You are so cool!!!

Glad you got some Marmite … it wasn’t me who sent it so I’m thinking it must have been Sandra or Hay or somebody like that? Hope you enjoy it!!

I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I’m going to have to figure out what to do with the Marmite now that I have it. It was Hay. We traded. I sent her some Beach Plum Jelly and Cranberry preserves. Cape Cod is known for it’s Beach Plums and Cranberries. She also sent me some little candy bars and put the WW points on them and a postcard showing how beautiful New Zealand is.

that was wonderful joan! how can you be so effortlessly funny?!! i love this video, and i’ll be watching out for the next interview!

my question would be, where is your dream vacation?

I will add your question to my next interview. I don’t know why I am funny. My kids think it’s because I am crazy , yet they love me anyway. I am so, so , sorry about your loss. But I do know one thing you will mend. I lost my Dad 8 1/2 years ago and I thought I would be heartbroken forever but I’m not. Now I can think of him with love and laughter.

I think you can add “self interview video on my blog” to your list of amazing things you’ve done.

Interest in astronomy is also very up there on the amazingness scale. It’s always blown my mind when I’ve pointed out some planet or other celestial object and people ask, how do you know THAT? I think to myself, how can you NOT know that? Sheesh it’s fucking Jupiter, it’s in the sky all the time! You can practically see its moons with the naked eye and it’s bright as hell. Dumbasses!

Earth is such an infinitesimal part of our universe. With my own telescope I can see the rings of Saturn and many other amazing things. If people only knew what was really out there. The billions of galaxies, there has to be other life out there. All you have to do is look up!!! I can name every constellation and many of the stars. I wonder why a person would not care to know the rest of the universe. When my kids were little I used to speak to their classes on astronomy. It was so much fun to hear their questions. A couple of times I took classes down to the beach to look at the stars. I constantly am on aurora borealis watch. I have seen some great ones here on Cape Cod. If you ever want my sites that alert me to them let me know. http://WWW.spaceweather.com is one of my favorite sites.

That was awesome, Joan! It is so neat to see you on camera. You are such a natural. I love your new “Just ask Joan” idea.

    A question:

If you could give one word of advice on life, what would it be?

I will add your question to the list. This is so much fun.

That was terrific Joan! How I wish I lived close by, just so I could talk to you everyday.

My kitty loved you too, he was absolutely mesmerized by your voice and your video. His eyes never left the screen. He even started purring. LOL.

Here’s a question for you: What is your favorite memory from your childhood?

    Love Ya!

I am so glad you asked a question. I didn’t know what to ask myself. I wish I could talk to you everyday too. That’s the one thing about blogging, you don ‘t get to meet your friends in person. I will add your question to “The List”. All kitties love me. I think I may have been a kitty in another life.
    Hugs, Joan

You crack me up! Dumbass interview indeed! (not) But, you said you even embarrass yourself! And yet you still posted it! Hahaha! And to interview yourself, too. You are so right, you have not grown up yet, and I, for one, am glad. You are completely adorable. I think I read somewhere you consider yourself an introvert! OMG!!! 🙂
Here’s my question: Which planet would you like to go camping on, and why?

In a way I am an introvert because I love being by myself. I can entertain myself for days. When I was doing the interview I was alone so it was easy. I wasn’t even thinking that anyone would watch it. If I had thought of people watching it I might not have done it. I absolutely love your question and will add it to the list.

Wow! That was just great! I keep learning more about you too, like the astronomy thing. You are such an interesting person. You really should have your own talk show! I admire how comfortable you were in front of the camera even though you said you didn’t really prepare anything. I wish I could do that. I’m not even that comfortable on the phone!

I love astronomy and even have a telescope. The first time I saw the rings of Saturn through my own telescope I almost passed out I got so excited. As I was doing the interview I was alone. I didn’t even think of the camera as being there so it was easy. When I was young I was just about the shyest person you could ever meet. But something happened as I got older. I don’t know what, but my shyness disappeared.

Well this was just fantastic, I loved it. I’ve been away from the blog world for the past couple of days so at first I panicked, thinking I’d missed the opportunity to submit some questions. Here are three questions I’ve stolen from the famous Proust questionnaire for the next time you interview yourself:

    1. What is your most treasured possession?
    2. Who is your favorite hero of fiction?
    3. What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Oh, I love these questions. I’m not looking at them to closely because when I ask the questions to myself I don’t want to have prepared answers. I want to be more spontaneous. With my memory that will be easy.

    Aww!!

How sweet. I think it’s an amazing thing that you gave yourself this interview Joan.

Your so free just blogging all day telling every-one everything and sharing your loves with us all. Hehe!! How wonderful.I think this is so beautiful and so are you. I love how you change your tone in your voice when you become Joan after each queastion. You go all little girlish.

I want to interview me. Would you think I was copying off you ( which I would be ) if I gave myself the same questions as you and interviewed myself.

Or !! Maybe you could give me different questions Joan. Your SO SPECIAL.

I laughed and laughed. Your a bit like me.

    Smiles
    Di xx

Oh, I think you should definitely interview your self. I would ask you #1 What is it about festivals that you enjoy so much? #2 Tell us about your relationship with your daughter? and #3 Are you a free Spirit and if so why? I’d love to hear you speak and hear your accent.

You are very special too Diane.
