OMG, I just nearly went nuts.  I saw this post but only the title and the date and I’m thinking–That’s it, I’ve finally gone off the deep end.  I wrote a post today and don’t remember doing it.

Then I start to read it and I’m wondering why I’m writing about my mother–she’s dead and never ever  made desserts when she was alive.

I’m glad to know Sarah is asking for recipes because at least I know I’m not totally whacked.  I don’t mind if I can’t remember yesterday but not remembering today would be creepy.

Oh, give her some recipes and make them difficult.  I’m not making dessert. Love you Sarah

I’m back to weight watchers and one of my favorite snacks is the Vitalicious Pumpkin muffin.  Vitalicious is a company that makes  very high fiber, low calorie muffins.  You can buy them premade in the freezer section of large supermarkets or you can buy the mixes and make them yourself.   They don’t have mixes for all their flavors but they do have some.  On their website you can find recipes for using their mixes to come up with other flavors by adding a few more ingredients.

My favorite recipe is to take their blueberry muffin mix and turn it into pumpkin muffins.  I love them with a little fat free Cool Whip.

Now to be honest,  they are NOT big giant muffins, they do not taste like something you would get in a bakery but for  me they are a great snack that I don’t  feel guilty about.  The flavor also  fits the season.

I looked up a Panera Pumpkin Muffin and it contains 530 calories and 20 grams of fat.  That, my dear friends, is 12 weight watcher points. 

You can buy the mixes and the muffins on line at their website.  I buy them by the case because I make them a lot.

Ingredients: 1 package of Blue Bran VitaMuffin Mix 2 egg whites 1 cup water 1/2 cup canned pumpkin 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon cinnamon-sugar 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/4 teaspoon allspice 2 Tablespoons Smart Balance Light®

Makes One Dozen 2-oz. VitaMuffins Original VitaMuffin Mix: 90 Calories, 6g Fiber, 0g Fat. As prepared below: 150 Calories, 5g Fiber, 2.5g Fat. Blue Bran VitaMuffin Mix (Blueberry Muffin Mix) » Learn More Instructions: Preheat oven to 400°F. Line standard muffin pan with baking cups (for best results use foil baking cups) or use VitaTop baking pans. Set aside. In large mixing bowl combine Blue Bran VitaMuffin Mix, water, egg whites, canned pumpkin, cinnamon, vanilla extract, ginger and nutmeg. Then melt the Smart Balance and pour into bowl. Mix well. Scoop 1-2 tablespoons of VitaMix into baking cups or pan. Bake for about 25 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle cinnamon-sugar over top of each VitaMuffin and allow thorough cooling.Enjoy! Tip: Freeze any unused Pumpkin Harvest VitaMuffins for a later date.

That’s right people I lost 7.8 pounds this week.  I actually was a little in shock  after the weigh in.  I know some of it is water weight but who cares,  it counts.  I know I won’t do that every week but it’s a nice start.

I wrote down every single drop of food that went into my mouth including 1 tablespoon of Quiche that I had made for Sarah and her hubby.  I also went out to lunch today with the family and Lilah’s other grandmother.  I had a grilled chicken sandwich and actually had them hold the cheese.  I love cheese.  It’s in my top 5 foods I love.  I could have had it and counted the points but I kept thinking how much food I could have later for the same number of points.  It became a no brainer.

Of course the leader of the meeting brought up my weight loss to everyone in the room which means I have to lose something this week so I don’t look like a wuss. 

 I used the spell checker on this and according to the checker the word ”weigh” is spelled wrong.  I really can’t come up with any other way to spell it.

Aren’t we all weight watchers?  I don’t know of one woman who doesn’t watch her weight.  Even the real, how do I put this delicately,  “FATTIES”, watch their weight.  They don’t necessarily do anything about it.  They just watch it.  Even if they don’t have a scale they still watch their weight.  They have to look in the mirror occasionally and when they do you know damn well they are watching their weight in that truthful mirror. How do I know this?  I know this because I am still a “FATTY” and I have watched my weight for years. 

I don’t know who this woman is but I wish I had good eyesight like she does.

I watched it when I was thin so I wouldn’t get fat and I watched it when I was fat ( not to say that I’m not fat now)  just in case some miracle happened during the night.  Yes, I still believe in miracles but the weight loss miracle eludes me.  30 years and the miracle of weight loss is like a pie in the sky.  It ain’t gonna happen and if it does I want chocolate cream pie, please.

So I’m back to weight watchers again and this time I mean the real “Weight Watcher”  program  You know the one.  The one with the meetings and points and low-fat everything.

I haven’t been to weight watchers in a while and my scale proves that.  I have tried going back a few times but I always found an excuse to not attend meetings.  No meetings–no weight loss.

I went to the meeting last Monday and I have been counting points all week.  I go again tomorrow .  I’ll let you know what happened.

Oh, one more thing–you know how everyone says they are losing weight for their health–HELL NO!!  I want to look hot!!

After I wrote my last post and before I watched that trashy movie , I thought about nothing.  Remember my meditation thing I had going yesterday?  I really shouldn’t think of nothing.  Nothing confuses me. Nothing is an indefinite pronoun which means nothing refers to something.   That means when I was thinking about nothing I was really thinking about something and that something was nothing.

Nothing freaks me out and I don’t mean that no things freak me out I mean that the idea of nothing freaks me out.  The idea of nothing seems so,  well, nothing.

So if someone asks you “What’s cool with you? ” and you say “Nothing”  does that mean nothing is cool and if nothing is cool does that mean everyone is going to want it and if everyone wants it should I start selling it?

What does nothing look like?

I’m wondering what I should charge for nothing?  I’m seeing dollar signs $$$$$$$$$$$.  It’s got to be packaged nicely.  Packaging always helps to sell something except I’m selling nothing so the packaging confuses me.  I really thought nothing confused me.

Can you put a ribbon around nothing?   I’m thinking red and green here folks (Christmas).  I’ve always wanted to give my friends and family nothing for Christmas and I think this is the perfect year for that.  Wow, shopping is going to be easy though the wrapping may be tough.  I can’t decide what color goes well with nothing. 

I think this packaging is too commercial.  I want my nothing to look homemade.

Nothing has given me so much to think about. 

You’ve heard the saying “Get Something for Nothing”  How about “Get Nothing for Something”. 

Now that you’ve read about nothing I think I will not think of nothing and watch a trashy movie.

One last thing before the movie—-there is a lot of crap out there about nothing but I will have you know that all the crap I wrote here about nothing came from the emptiness of my own mind. Consider Nothing copywrited by me.

I honestly can’t think of a thing to write.  Sarah and the baby have gone off island to a wedding shower leaving me to my own devices.  I love the little one but it’s nice to have a day off.

You know how you are supposed to clear your mind when you meditate?  I did that.  Now what? My brain is empty.

I think I will go watch a movie and fill my brain with trash.

He’s hilarious whoever he is. I’m just hoping he knows that and isn’t serious about some of the letters he’s written and don’t forget his hit song “Secret Itch”. He also believes he’s been abducted by aliens and who knows–maybe he has!

Mr. Snipps visited a local store in the town I live in this summer. After his visit he sent the owners an interesting letter. From the research I have done on Mr. Snipps he is well known for his letters.

In this particular letter Mr. Snipps requested help from the owners. He questioned why they didn’t sell fudge in their store. The store sells clothing ( not really but I don’t want to give the name of the business. I can guarantee that it is not a store that would normally sell fudge).

I quote Mr. Snipps:

“I left your store catatonic and oblivious to my surroundings. Thank God I tripped and fell later that afternoon because it woke me up. However, I did feel empty and completely unfulfilled. As a result, I returned to my lodgings and lay in bed watching the ceiling fan go round and round while listening to the Armed Forces Network.”

There was a little more to the letter but I only included the main paragraph. I guess Mr. Snipps didn’t notice the fudge store next door or if he did maybe they had run out of fudge for the day.

You can Google Mr. Snipps if you care to. Personally, I find the man very interesting. If you are reading this Mr. Snipps I respectfully ask you “What’s Up (beside space ships)?

I just wrote a whole post and somehow the draft got deleted.  I am cursing right now.  It’s late, I’m tired and I can’t remember what I wrote.  I even had a cartoon to post.  I’m going to put up the cartoon, go to bed and hope I remember what I wrote.

I remember one thing.  The wasband has a cold.

Not having been around infants for a while I had forgotten some of the interesting things they do.  Lilah is helping me remember.  Every three hours you can count on Lilah to let me know she’s hungry.  She doesn’t just cry she screams. 

I started thinking about how life would be if we all screamed when we were hungry.  Imagine what suppertime would be like.  The children would all be in the kitchen setting the table screaming as they do it.  Mom would be finishing up supper screaming as loud as the children.  Dad would walk in the door after work screaming louder than everyone.

In the summer you would hear all your neighbors screaming  unless you had a noisy air conditioner. Restaurants would be brimming with folks sitting at their tables screaming.   Ear plug companies would be making millions even in this economy.

And what about the person who never screams.  You would know they pig out on food all the time and you would know if  people were skinny they were bulimic.  You wouldn’t be able to hide it. 

Hungry Woman!

Imagine not being hungry at breakfast and attending an early morning business meeting.  Suddenly you are starving and of course screaming.  There’s no food.  You have to leave the meeting.  You’re fired for not eating breakfast.

Wow, I guess I really am overtired.  I’d better go to bed.
